SPECTACULAR WINCHESTER MODEL 1892 LEVER ACTION SADDLE RING CARBINE. WINCHESTER 1892 892976 38 WCF MODERN; C&R Cal 38. 20" round bbl, blue finish. Manufactured in 1919. Two line address/patent date marking on the left side of the barrel ahead of the rear sight and "38 W.C.F." at the breech on the left side. The Winchester oval proof is marked on top of the barrel and receiver at the breech. Gumwood stock and forearm. Three line upper tang marking and the serial number on the bottom of the receiver. Blade front and carbine folding leaf rear sights, saddle ring and staple on the left side of the receiver, all blue finish and mounted with a smooth gumwood forearm and straight grip stock with a steel buttplate. CONDITION: Very Fine. Rnd bbl has 95% orig blue with forward part of bbl with light rub marks. Mag tube full length 95-96% orig blue. Bbl band is 96-97% orig blue. Left side of receiver is 97-98% with a few dings in upper part of receiver. Bottom of receiver is 90-95% orig blue,right side of receiver is 97-98% orig blue with a few dings around loading gate screw. Hammer is a blued condition with 97-98% orig blue, lever is of a blued condition also but with only 80-85% orig blue. Left side of stock has few light impressions, one scrape next to buttplate. Other dings as well. Finish remaining on left side would rate 90-95%. Right side with the same amount of dings and impressions with total finish remaining at 95+% condition. Bore is bright and shiny.
