SUPERIOR ULRICH ENGRAVED WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 TAKEDOWN RIFLE WITH FIGURED DELUXE WOOD. WINCHESTER 1873 158192 22 Cal. 22 Long. 24-3/8" oct bbl in a takedown factory engraved rifle. Left and right sides have classic Ulrich scroll-work on left and right sides of receiver. Nose cap is engraved on both sides with case colors darkened somewhat. Top of receiver also engraved front and back, as well as engraved on dust cover. Burl walnut pistol grip checkered with ebony inlay in pistol grip. Stock and forearm are of figured deluxe American walnut checkered in "H" style pattern. Accompanied by Cody Firearms Records office research sheet confirming special order features: Checkered PG stock, Shotgun butt, Casehardened, Engraved and shipped Sept 8, 1884. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Fine. Left and right sides of receiver have 60% case color in hidden areas, with balance of case colors somewhat silvered out. Forearm good to very good with strong checkering. Wood with some later added finish does not detract. Stock with much orig finish. Chip of wood missing on left side of receiver. Two tang screw holes are empty with no fillers. Hammer has ample amount of case color present with trigger toning out to silver and lever turning to darker patina color. No finish remains on buttplate. Extractor is intact. Carrier lifter has toned to light mustard color where 22 cal long is located, along with numerous dings. Bore bright and excellent. Mechanically excellent. 53091-137 MS (45,000-55,000)
