FANTASTIC CONDITION MODEL 1873 SADDLE-RING CARBINE IN FULL NICKEL WITH CLEANING ROD.WINCHESTER187312218844-40Cal. 44-40. 20" rnd bbl with "Winchester Repeating Arms, New Haven, Connecticut" over "Kings Patent March.29.1966, October.16.1880". No caliber markings on bbl or carrier lifter. Saddle ring and stud in place. Nicely figured walnut stocks. Assembly line no. on stock matches lower tang. Buttplate matches stock. Rear bbl band has been removed by evidence of scratch on wood from sliding bbl band forward. This rifle is in full nickel with no bubbling of nickel noted anywhere. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Extremely fine overall condition. Retains 95%+ nickel finish overall with some saddle ring shadowing on receiver. Strong 98% factory finish remains on stock. Mechanics are fine. Good bore with strong rifling and some light scattered pitting. Full nickel 1873's are hard to find with this much factory original finish.
