SUPERB NEAR MINT WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 BLUED RECEIVER EARLY THIRD MODEL RIFLE. WINCHESTER 1873 184831B 44 Cal. 44. 24-3/8" full octagon bbl with standard two line address. Full magazine. Blued nosecap and receiver. Case colored rifle butt. Hammer & lever are case colored although bottom of lever is very muted with a little case color left. On both left and right sides of the lever case colors are very evident. All features verified by Cody Firearms Records Office research sheet, shipped July 8, 1885. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Very Fine. Bbl is full oct with a 96% bbl blue with standard front and rear bbl sight. Magazine tube retains 95% blue. Left side of receiver retains 96% bbl blue with the 96% on the right wide as well with a few light scratches on the right side portion of the side plate. Wood on left side has only a few light impressions with no chips or missing pieces evident. Right side of stock has small area finish missing on the grip area with a few light impressions around the lever. Wood to metal fit is excellent as is fit on forearm with no chips or pieces of wood missing.Screw heads look to be unturned and in excellent condition. One of the upper tang plug screws is missing. Action is excellent, bright shiny bore. A lovely nearly mint plain 1873 in the most desirable caliber. 53091-141 MS (12,500-17,500)
