EXCELLENT CONDITION LATE MODEL 1873 WINCHESTER SADDLE RING CARBINE.WINCHESTER187350603644-40Cal. 44-40. Typical carbine configuration. 20" rnd bbl. Standard carbine sights. Saddle ring & stud in place. Markings on bbl are in between rear bbl band and rear bbl sight. Cal. marking also on carrier lifter. Has standard marking on top tang with carbine buttplate. Plain walnut stocks. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Excellent. Left side of receiver would rate a 96% plus blue. Top of receiver is 98% blue and the right side of the receiver is a good strong 98% blue. Hammer & lever retain them majority of its case colors although muted on the lever only. Buttplate retains 80-85% case color. Wood to metal fit is fine with a few light impressions on the stock on the left side and right side with the majority of the finish in place at 98% finish on the stock and forearm the same. Rear bbl band has never been removed. Lower tang behind the lever shows wear as it is in a gray slate color. Other than that it is all blue on top tang and under the lever. Screw heads look to be unturned. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bore. A lovely condition saddle ring carbine sure to please any Winchester collector. 53091-34 MS (12,500-17,500)
