SUPERB CASE COLORED WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 RIFLE IN 38 WCF. WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 LEVER ACTION RIFLE 396440B 38 WCF Cal 38WCF. 24-3/8" full octagon bbl with full magazine. Third model with Case colored receiver and highly polished niter blue loading gate. Case colored hammer, trigger and lever along with a case colored buttplate. Stock houses the 4-piece cleaning rods within a trap door. Comes with Rocky Mountain front sight, acorn rear sight with serrated edges on sides of sight. A higher grade of standard wood but stock channel and tang are not marked with any x's to indicate that it is fancy grade wood. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Fine. Oct bbl retains most orig blue balance fading from light surface oxidation to patina. Mag tube retains 80-85% orig blue balance turning to dark patina. Forearm cap retains a good 90% case color. Receiver left retains 95-96% case color, right side has 96-97% bright vivid case color with loading gate 97-98% bright niter blue. Hammer retains 95-96% case colored and lever is 90-95% with bottom of lever starting to silver out. Upper and lower tangs are 93-96% case colored. All screws look to be in very fine condition with ample amount of orig finish on screw heads. Wood on left retains about 95% finish and rear of stock has raised grain as well as some light surfaces scratches with a few impressions on the stock, one running about 3-4" in the middle of stock. No cracks or chips missing on left side. Light scratches and some compression points with a grain line crack from right side of tang going down to bottom tang. This crack shows no evidence of missing wood but you can feel it indicating that one side is raised higher than the other. Forearm with light compressions and light scratches. Overall would rate a solid 93-95% finish. Overall condition on right side 95% finish with raised grain on back portion of stock. Bore is bright and shiny. Cycles properly, mechanics are fine. 48568-16 MS (15,000-25,000)
