MAGNIFICENT WINCHESTER MODEL 1876 STANDARD RIFLE. WINCHESTER 1876 50180 45-60 Cal. 45-60. 28" round bbl with standard front and rear sights. Magazine tube is full length. Forearm cap, receiver and buttplate are all blued. Hammer, lever, and trigger are case colored. Comes equipped with 4-piece cleaning rod behind trap door in buttstock. This is a standard rifle in a big caliber seldom seen in this condition. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collection of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl remains a solid 98-99% orig blue. Mag tube 98% orig blue. 98% orig blue on forearm cap. Receiver has 98-99% orig blue overall with the dust cover also 98% orig blue. Hammer retains 98% orig case color with a slight drag line, lever has strong case colors vivid on left and right side with 96-98% case orig case color. Buttplate has 96% orig blue. Sideplate screw is buggered up, the rest look to be untouched with case colors remaining on heads of screws. Buttstock is straight grain American walnut with few impressions, no gouges on left side, one tiny sliver of wood missing in the top left corner of stock where it meets receiver. Finish on wood remains 98-99% on both sides as well as 96-97% orig finish on forearm. Metal buttplate fits perfectly and retains all orig case colors on screw heads as well. Brass carrier lifter is marked with 45-60 and retains a nice mellow yellow mustard color. Bore is bright and shiny with no pitting. Cycles properly and mechanics are fine.
