VERY FINE WINCHESTER MODEL 1886 DELUXE RIFLE WITH FIGURED 2X PISTOL GRIP STOCK AND FACTORY LETTER. WINCHESTER 1886 34576 45-90 Cal. 45-90. 26" bbl. Full octagonal bbl, Proper Lyman tang sight with sporting front sight. Full magazine with a case colored forearm cap. Vibrant case colored receiver. Case colored hammer without drag line and case colored lever. Checkered pistol grip stock and forarm of beautiful XX American feathercrotch walnut. Case colored buttplate. Lower tang marked "8157" with XX grade with "SRB" behind. Top channel of stock marked "34576" and buttplate marked "293" on toe. Accompanied by a Winchester Factory Letter confirming configuration with ship date Nov 16, 1891. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Very fine. Oct. bbl retains 96-97% blue with a sight blank filled in the rear bbl dovetail. Mounted with tang sight that is very fine with 95% finish remaining. Mag tube retains 90-95% blue with the balance turning to dark patina. Forearm cap is case colored with 95-97% colors remaining. Case colored receiver on both left and right sides are 98% bright and beautiful. Hammer has 96% case color with a slight drag line showing. Lever has 96% case color with brilliant color on the left and right flap. Stock on left side has few light impressions and right side has few more scratches and impressions on high part of stock. Overall finish on stock rates 96-97%. Small amount of wood has chipped from stock next to receiver on right hand side. No cracks on upper or lower tang. Bottom of receiver is light with case color but still quite evident. Mechanics are fine. Bright shiny bore with strong rifling.
