BREATHTAKING NEAR MINT WINCHESTER MODEL 1892 SADDLE RING CARBINE IN .44-40 CALIBER. WINCHESTER 1892 132834 44 WCF Cal. 44 WCF. 20" bbl with standard front and rear bbl sight for '92 Carbine. Retains bbl bands of the same description. Early marked address in a 2-line "Manufactured by the / Winchester Repeating Arms Co. New Haven, Conn. U.S.A.". Magazine tube is standard full length. Blued receiver, case colored hammer and lever. Saddle ring and staple intact. Standard plain walnut stocks and blued buttplate. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Very Fine. Bbl is 99% plus blue. Magazine tube 99% plus blue. Front and rear bbl bands are also 99% blue. Receiver both left and right are 99% plus blue. Lever is stunningly case colored and vivid. Buttplate is blued and screws that attach buttplate retain most of their case colors. Hammer is without a drag line and all the colors are present. All screw heads on the receiver look to be untouched as does the upper tang filler screw and the main tang screw. Wood retains all of its finish, left side as well as right side with the right side having a small amount of impressions in the top part of the comb next to the buttplate has an impression of about 1/2" long. Forearm left side indicates no marks with the right side indicating approximately half a dozen small impressions. Mechanics are crisp and bore is near mint with a coating of dried grease on the inside. This 44-40 1892 SRC is as good as one gets and is antique 4th year production as well.
