SUPERB COLT FLAT TOP SINGLE ACTION ARMY TARGET REVOLVER WITH ELONGATED WALNUT GRIP IN THE VERY RARE .44 SMITH & WESSON CALIBER. COLT FLAT TOP TARGET 150627 44 S&W Cal. 44 S&W. 7-1/2" bbl. The finest all original Colt Factory flat top long grip Target revolver one could wish for. These flat tops have blued frames as opposed to case color and to find one with its orig beautifully checkered paneled walnut elongated grip is a collectors dream. .44 S & W single actions are extremely rare and seldom encountered. Only 51 target .44 S & W's were manufactured out of a total production of 357,000. For rarity and desirability it would be extremely difficult to top this splendid revolver. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Flat top SN 150627 retains nearly all of its brilliant orig Colt Factory "midnight" bluing. Front sight has German silver inset in perfect condition. Frame retains nearly 100% orig bright blue as does trigger guard and backstrap. Cylinder with faint unobjectionable tracking line. Hammer with brilliant niter blue on saddle and orig factory polish on sides. All screws are perfect retaining brilliant niter blue. The elongated walnut grip has lovely figure with nearly perfect paneled checkering on sides, front and back. Overall condition on this revolver would be impossible to improve upon.
