VERY RARE AND DESIRABLE COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER IN THE VERY RARE .476 ELEY CAL. 1 OF ONLY 161 MFG.COLTSAA100348476W/CASECal. .476 Eley. 7-1/2" bbl. This splendid and extremely rare revolver was shipped to England sometime in 1883. It has tiny English proofs on cyl chambers and bbl. 476 Eley was first introduced in 1876, however few of these rarities remain in America and most were shipped to England where this caliber was very popular. With only 161 made, this is an extremely rare Colt SAA and is in very, very fine condition throughout. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Bbl retains nearly all of its orig Colt factory bright blue finish with perfect markings, "COLT'S PATENT MFG. CO. HARTFORD CONN. U.S.A. DEPOT 14 PALL MALL LONDON". Ejector rod housing has most orig coloring, bright blue. Frame has nearly all orig vibrant case colors. Backstrap and trigger guard have most orig blue with thinning. Cyl has considerable orig blue with some browning. Frame retains vibrant case colors, even on recoil shield with minor fading. Case colors on hammer faded. Trigger has most bright blue. Beautiful American eagle hard rubber grips are very crisp and fit perfectly and have some sun fading to base. Bore is brilliant and action is tight as new. This is an extremely rare Colt black powder SAA in one of the rarest calibers. 53091-100 MRZ (12,500-15,000)
