EXCEPTIONAL WINCHESTER MODEL 1895 SADDLE RING CARBINE WITH FACTORY SHIPPING BOX. WINCHESTER 1895SRC 401051 30-40-KRAG MODERN; C&R Cal. 30-40 KRAG. 22" rnd bbl, full blue finish, straight grain American walnut stocks with carbine buttplate. Bbl is mounted with standard blade front sight and ladder rear sight. Left side of bbl is marked "NICKEL STEEL BARREL /ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER .30 ARMY". "WP" proof is struck on top of bbl on breech and on receiver ring over ".30 / ARMY". Left side of receiver has Winchester address and patent marks rolled in two lines. SN is stamped on bottom tang. "B" is also stamped on bottom tang. Upper tang is stamped "MODEL 1895 / TRADEMARK / REG U.S.PAT. OFF & FGN". Accompanied by a Winchester cardboard shipping box, numbered to carbine 40120. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbl shows nearly all of the orig bright blue finish with sharp markings. Sights are very good. Bore is dirty with strong rifling. Receiver retains 95% bright blue finish with high-point wear and some minor flaking on left side. Lever shows a scuff mark on forward left edge. Magazine shows a couple of slight operation marks. Lever retains nearly all orig blue finish. Hammer shows a light drag mark on top. Bolt retains 90% bright blue finish with some minor stains and scratches. All markings are sharp and clear. Stocks are also extremely fine, retaining all their orig oil finish with only the slightest of handling marks overall. Buttplate shows nearly all orig blue finish, as does the trapdoor. Mechanics are crisp Box is very good with some oil staining and scuff marks. A wonderful example of a Winchester Model 1895SRC that shows little if any use. 53094-91 TEP (4,500-5,500) W/BOX
