WINCHESTER MODEL 1906 PUMP ACTION "GALLERY RIFLE". WINCHESTER 1906 111762 22SHORT MODERN; C&R Cal. 22 SHORT. 20" rnd bbl, full magazine, full blue finish. Straight grain gum wood stocks with Winchester hard rubber shotgun buttplate. Bbl shows 2-line Winchester address and patent mark followed by model designation rolled in front of rear sight. Cal. designation is marked at the breech on the left side. Rear sight is marked "PAT JAN. 29 1901". Upper tang is marked "WINCHESTER / TRADEMARK". SN stamped on bottom forward part of receiver and on lower rear tang of trigger guard. Buttplate has Winchester logo in a circle. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl and magazine tube retain 99% orig blue finish with only slight losses toward muzzle. Markings are sharp. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Receiver retains 98% bright blue finish that is turning somewhat plum on upper ring. Bolt retains nearly all blue finish. Hammer shows most of muted case color. All markings are sharp. Mechanics are crisp. Stocks are fine with most of orig varnish remaining and just a few handling marks. Buttplate is very fine with no dents or losses. This is a very fine example of a Winchester Model 1906 "Gallery Rifle" that would be almost impossible to improve upon. 53094-79 TEP (1,500-1,800)
