EARLY WHITNEYVILLE-KENNEDY SMALL FRAME LEVER ACTION RIFLE WITH SET TRIGGER AND MISSOURI PACIFIC RAILROAD MARK. WHITNEYVILLE ARMORY KENNEDY 919 44WCF Cal. 44 WCF. 24" oct bbl, full magazine, full blued finish. Straight grain American walnut stocks, double set triggers. Bbl is marked "WHITNEYVILLE ARMORY, CT. U.S.A. KENNEDY" rolled in front of rear sight. Cal. mark appears behind rear sight. Upper tang is marked "PAT'D JANY. 7-73. / AP-12 MAY 13 & AUG. 12-79". SN is struck on lower tang behind trigger. Left side of buttstock is stamped "No 12 / MO. PAC. RY.". Upper tang of buttplate is also stamped "MO. PAC RY." twice. Upper tang is also stamped "15". These marks signify ownership of the Missouri Pacific Railroad. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Very good to fine. Bbl and magazine tube both retain 80-90% of orig dull blue finish with a few dents and scratches and some high-point wear. Markings are sharp. Nickel silver knife blade front sight is very good. Sporting rear sight is good and has been repaired by braizing. Bore is bright with visible rifling. Mechanics need attention. Set trigger needs repair. Receiver retains 80% bright blue finish with some marring and scratches, especially on left side. Operating lever is somewhat speckled. Markings are sharp and clear. Hammer retains a considerable amount orig case colors. Stocks are very good, full sized and retain most of the varnish finish with handling marks and dents overall commensurate with use of rifle. Markings are sharp and clear and appear orig. Buttplate is an even plum/brown patina. All markings are sharp.
