PRIME COLT .38 DOUBLE ACTION LIGHTNING REVOLVER IN FACTORY PICTURE BOX. COLT 1877 133676 38 MODERN; C&R Cal. 38 COLT. 4-1/2" blue finish bbl, backstrap and trigger guard with vividly case colored receiver and niter blue appointments including screws, hammer, trigger and traverse takedown latch. Equipped with bullseye ejector and rod. Two piece Rampant Colt plastic checkered grips with 2-line traditional colt Hartford address. Three line patent dates on left of receiver with Rampant Colt marking to rear of patent dates. Housed in a Colt Factory picture box with an appropriate 4-1/2" blue .38 label. Manufactured in 1902 and determined by serial number. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine overall with most all blue finish remaining on bbl, cylinder, front & rear straps with approximately 25% blue finish having flaked on exterior of ejector rod housing. Case color receiver finish remains virtually 100% intact with only the slightest amount of wear to be found only on the sharpest of corners. Mechanics are found to be functioning flawlessly and lock-up is tight. All numbers were found to be matching throughout including grips. Bore and chambers are excellent as to be expected. Box is an authentic Colt picture box, however is not appropriate for this revolver and when reviewed closely it is found that another number had at one time been penciled on bottom. Picture label on top is good with slight water staining and slight material loss at corners. Label on end of box is very fine.
