COLT MODEL 1877 THUNDERER DOUBLE ACTION REVOLVER. COLT 1877 32414 41 COLT Cal. 41 Colt. 4-1/2" bbl. Full nickel finish. 2-pc checkered hard rubber grips with Colt logos. Top of bbl is rolled with 2-line Colt address. Left side of bbl shows "COLT D.A. 41" in an etched panel. Two small British proof marks are struck at the left breech and on frame adjacent to bbl mark. Left side of frame shows 3-line Colt patent mark. Left rear trigger guard bow is struck "41 CAL". SN appears on frame, trigger guard and backstrap. Last digit of SN is struck on rear face of cylinder. SNs match. Small British proof marks are struck on the inside of each flute. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Fine. Bbl and ejector rod housing retain nearly all of the bright nickel finish. Markings are sharp. Etched panel is fine. Frame also retains nearly all of the original nickel with some slight scratch marks around hammer screw. Frame markings are sharp. Screws show traces of blue. Trigger guard retains most of the bright nickel finish turning frosty on forestrap. Backstrap also retains most of nickel finish, turning frosty of backstrap. Markings are sharp. Cyl shows most of the slightly cloudy nickel finish with some flaking on the front face. Markings are sharp. Grips are fine with sharp checkering and clear logo. Both hammer and trigger retain a considerable amount of fire blue. Mechanics are crisp. A very fine example of an early Colt Model 1877 Thunderer Revolver. 53094-10 TEP (2,000-2,500)
