EXCEPTIONAL COLT MODEL 1877 LIGHTNING SHERIFF'S MODEL DOUBLE ACTION REVOLVER. COLT 1877 94492 38 COLT Cal. 38 COLT. 3-1/2" bbl. Full nickel finish with 2-pc checkered hard rubber grips with Colt logos. Top of bbl shows 2-line Colt address with index mark. Left side of bbl is rolled "COLT.D.A.38". Left side of frame shows 3-line Colt patent mark stamped in front of Rampant Colt logo in a circle. SN is struck on frame, trigger guard and backstrap. Last 3 digits are struck on rear face of cyl. SNs match. Grips are not numbered. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Fine. Bbl retains most of the original bright nickel finish with a few scratches and slight flaking at muzzle. Markings are sharp. Bore is frosty with visible rifling. Frame retains 98% of the original bright nickel finish. Markings are sharp. Screws show considerable fire blue. Trigger guard shows most of the bright nickel finish. Backstrap retains almost all of the nickel finish that has turned frosty along the backstrap. Grip screws show considerable fire blue. Hammer has a generous amount of fire blue on top and rear face.
