LOT OF 5 WOODEN PISTOL CASES.

1) English style oak case for a Colt Lightning revolver Model 1877 with a 3-1/2" bbl. Case has brass disc inlaid on lid. Lid is attached with screws. Case is lined with blue velvet. Lid has Colt Firearms Company London label. Case contains a cartridge block for 16 rounds and a combination screwdriver tool. Corner compartment has an bone pull. 2) An English oak case for a Colt Model 1878 DA revolver with a 5-1/2" bbl. Case has brass disc inlaid on lid. Inside lid has label of "J.H. CRANE LONDON". Case is lined with green velvet and has 3 compartments with oak lids and provision for a box of cartridges. 3) An American mahogany case for a Colt 1860 army conversion revolver. Case has a pine bottom. Case is lined with purple velvet and has a wooden block with 50 orig cartridges. Case also contains and empty box for these cartridges. Box is labeled "CALIBER 44 /FOR / COLT'S NEW BREECH LOADING ARMY REVOLVER / MADE BY UNITED STATES CARTRIDGE COMPANY". Box also contains a Colt L-shaped combination screwdriver. 4) Brass bound mahogany box for an unknown revolver. Box has brass plaque inlaid on lid. Corners are brass bound. Inside of box has been re-lined and has no partitions. Orig lining appears to have been purple. 5) Mahogany case for a Colt 7-1/2" SA revolver. Case is contemporary reproduction. Lining is blue of the French fit design. Case contains brass cleaning rod and brass key. SIZE: PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: 1) Very good. Box is intact. Finish is very good with some staining and handling marks overall. Lining is intact. Label is clean. 2) Very good. Exterior retains most of the varnish with handling marks and abrasions and some staining. Lining is very good and intact. Partitions are intact. Label is very good. 3) Very good. Case is intact. Top has some staining and some light sanding marks. Lining is also intact showing impression of a revolver. Cartridge box and cartridges are very good. Bottom of cartridge box is broken. 4) Good to very good. Box is intact. Lid has some cracks. Interior needs restoration. 5) Very good. Case is intact and only shows minor handling marks overall. 53094-143 TEP (2,000-2,500)
