FINE AMERICAN EAGLE POMMEL HORSEMAN SABER WITH BRILLIANT BLUE AND GOLD BLADE, CIRCA 1825.

31-1/2" blade has fine etched patriotic motifs including American panoply of arms and American eagle with 15 stars and "E PLURIBUS UNUM" above its head. The solid brass scabbard is florally and geometrically engraved with a central panel of a patriotic upspread American eagle. Languettes are both American eagles and crossguard is relief decorated with acorns and oak leaves, fine carved bone grip. SIZE: PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Very good to fine overall. Blade retains virtually all of its orig luster and 17-1/2" blue and gold panels. Scabbard is sound with few minor dents, old cleaning with traces of gilt in protected areas en suite to guard with traces of silver and gold plate.
