EXCEPTIONAL GROUP OF AMERICAN MILITARY KNIVES.

1) Collins & Company Bowie knife, 16-1/4" overall, 11-7/8" double edged blade. 5-line Collins address, unique turned stacked leather grip. Leather scabbard with brass tip and leather frog. 2) Model 1909 Bolo, 19-1/2" overall, 14" blade. Springfield Armory dated 1909, SN 745. Scabbard also date 1909 and inspected at Rock Island Arsenal. 3) Model 1904 Hospital Corps knife, 17-5/16"overall, 11-3/4" blade. 1910 Springfield Armory manufacture, SN 15645 with matching 1910 dated Rock Island Arsenal scabbard. 4) USMC Medical Corpsmen knife, 16-5/8" overall, 11-3/8" blade. Marked "U.S.M.C. / CHATILLON N.Y." in matching "USMC / BOYT / 44" marked scabbard. 5) V44 Survival knife, 14" overall, 9-1/4" blade, composition grip. Blade and scabbard both marked "COLLINS'. 6) Collins with presentation knife to "IN HONOR OF MEMBERS OF THE SOCIETY OF COLONIAL WARS IN THE STATE OF NEW YORK WHO SERVED IN THE SPANISH WAR - JANUARY 16, 1899" 17" overall, 12-1/4" blade. Plated scabbard tip and red felt lined frog, stacked leather washer grip. 7) Like new in box Cattaraugus folding machete, 15-1/2" overall, 10" blade. Black composition handle. These knives were issued to the Army Air Corps as survival knives. Orig blue cardboard box with Cattaragus logo. SIZE: PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: 1) Very good to fine. Blade is grey/white with light old sharpening. 2) Fine overall. Blade retains most of its orig luster with staining. Walnut grip slabs show hand worn patina with several small scuffs. Scabbard is sound and solid with scattered nicks and dents. 3) Very fine overall. Blade retains most of its orig polish. Belt loop retains most of its orig blue and brown leather scabbard shows minor cosmetic blemishes. 4) Very fine overall. Appears un-issued with minor cosmetic blemishes to leather scabbard. 5) Fine to very overall. Bright blade with crisp markings. 6) Very fine overall. 7) Extremely fine overall. Appears like new with soiling and cracking to box. 53094-165 JS (3,000-4,000)
