ESA - FINE LOT OF 19TH CENTURY BOWIE KNIVES.This lot consists of 6 large folders and 1 sheathed Joseph Rodgers utility knife. 1) "MAPPIN & WEST / SHEFFIELD" on 4-1/4" main blade, knife measures 9-1/2" overall with 6 additional blades, and 4 tools inset into ivory slab grips. 2) Massive 13 tool. 10" overall with 4-1/2" main blade. Unmarked stag grips. 3) Large sheathed folder, 11-1/2" overall with 7-1/2" clip-point blade, unmarked. Push button release on checkered horn grips. Leather sheath stamped "J.O. BAVIN". 4) Large sheathed folder, 12-1/4" overall with 7-1/2" clip-point blade marked "J.A. HENCKELS". 5) 91/4" overall Joseph Rodgers & Sons utility knife with 5" blade in German silver mounted brown leather scabbard, retains tweezers inset into horn grip, but missing second tool. 6) Large sheathed folder "GECO / SOLINGEN", 12-1/4" overall with 7-3/4" clip-point blade. 7) Large folder measuring 9-3/4" overall with 4-1/4" main blade. Stag grip slabs with inscription on German silver plaque "W. RUSSELL STEVENSON / 28.1.84", seven additional hinged tools and 3 inset tools in grips which are 2 sets of tweezers and vent pick. SIZE: PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Very good overall. 2) Shows more wear and use than others. Scissors are non-functional, iron patina with pitting, engraving still crisp on nail puller.
