GROUP OF 4 FLASKS.

1) Peace Flask made by Batty. Riling No. 862. Flask shows eagle with shield over clasped hands in an oval of stars. Bottom of flask shows a panoply of arms and flags with a shield embossed "US". Flask is embossed on both sides. Flask is dated "1851". Collar of top has "ABK" inspector mark. 2) Colt flask made for 1849 Pocket Model and the 31 Cal. New Model Pocket Root revolver. These flasks were made by both Mathewman & Batty. Sides show eagle and shield decoration with stars above and "E PLURIBUS UNUM" in banner below crossed pistols. Rapley No. F-6. 3) Adams fouled anchor "U.S.N." flask. Body of flask is embossed with fouled anchor over "U.S.N." on both sides. Top of flask is marked "ADAMS / J.S.P." inspector mark. Flask is dated "1846". "J.S.P." is also stamped on collar of body. 4) Rare Colt flask for Pocket Model revolver made by Dixon & Sons, London. Flask is embossed with a standing eagle with a revolver and flask in its talons. "COLT'S PATENT" is marked above eagle. There are two rows of balls below eagles talons. Rapley No. F-3. This flask is shown in Riling book No. 806 and 807. This type of flask is pictured in a Colt advertising lithograph of 1853. Spout is marked "DIXON & SONS ENGLAND". SIZE: PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: 1) Very good. Body shows a deep mustard brown patina with clear scene and a few minor dents. Scene is intact. Markings on top are clear. Spout has replacement charger screw. 2) Fine. Body shows a deep smooth patina with very few handling marks. Panels are sharp. Top & spout show considerable gilt finish. Spring shows considerable blue finish. 3) Fine. Flask shows a smooth mellow mustard patina overall. Scenes on both sides are sharp. Scene is intact. All markings are clear and legible. 4) Fine. Flask shows a deep, uncleaned dark brown patina. Scene on both sides is very sharp. Scene is intact. Top and spout both retain a generous amount of gilt finish. Spring shows considerable blue. 53094-183 TEP (1,500-2,500)
