REMINGTON TYPE I MODEL NO. 2 DOUBLE DERINGER WITH 2-PC ROSEWOOD GRIPS. REMINGTON DOUBLE DERR 310 41 RF Cal. 41 RF. 3" bbls. Full nickel finish. 2-pc rosewood grips. Top of bbl rib reads "E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILION N.Y./ELLIOT'S PATENT DEC 12TH 1865". SN is struck on the bottom of the bbl assembly and on frame under left grip. "TOM" is scratched on inside of right grip. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Fine. Bbl cluster retains almost all of the frosty nickel finish with sharp markings. Extractor shows traces of fire blue. Bores are dark with visible rifling. Frame retains nearly all of the frosty nickel finish with some speckling near the hammer and trigger. Markings are sharp. Mechanics are crisp. Frame screws and bbl latch show traces of blue. Hammer shows a considerable amount of fire blue. Grips are very good, intact with only some minor handling marks overall. A nice example of an early production Remington double Deringer, one of approx. 14,000 made in 1868. 53094-42 TEP (1,000-1,250)
