COLT 1911 COMMERCIAL GOVERNMENT MODEL MADE IN 1919 IN MOSTLY ORIGINAL CONDITION. COLT 1911 C116437 45 MODERN; C&R Cal. 45 ACP. 5" bbl. Slide right shows "COLT AUTOMATIC/CALIBRE 45", left slide shows typical Colt 1913 last patent date followed by Rampant Colt followed by Colt's standard Hartford address. Front sight is thin, rounded. Rear sight is flat with round notch. Receiver shows "GOVERNMENT MODEL/C116437". Top of receiver shows "S" mark. Hammer is long, wide spur, checkered. Grip safety is short tang type. Flat main spring housing with lanyard loop. Long milled trigger. Late type but correct checkered thumb safety. 1911 type slide stop. Stocks are after marked replacement double diamond type. Stock screws appear to be replacements with left lower stock screw missing. No magazine present. Bbl shows proper in the white finish through ejection port and has "&" (ampersand) mark in front of lug. PROVENANCE: The spectacular collections of Ray Bentley featuring the finest and rarest deluxe antique Winchesters in the world. CONDITION: Bore is bright and like new. Slide shows 96% orig blue with most of wear to edges., few minor pit marks. Receiver shows 90% orig blue with minor pitting and patina on front grip strap and minor patina on main spring housing. Scattered patina on butt. Replacement stocks appear to be overly thick. Portion of bbl visible through ejection port shows patina on raw metal. Mechanics are crisp. Overall fine to very fine. Pistol has a very pleasing appearance with the exception of the replacement stocks. 53094-1 KXK (2,250-3,250)
