WINCHESTER MODEL 1894 OCTAGON BARREL FULL MAGAZINE RIFLE.WINCHESTER189418253338-55MODERN; C&RCal. 38-55. 26" oct bbl. Full magazine. Full blued finish. Straight grain American walnut stocks with crescent buttplate. Bbl shows 2-line address rolled in front of rear sight with cal. designation at the breech. Nickel silver front sight, sporting rear sight. Upper tang is marked Model 1894/Winchester/Pat.Aug.21.1894. SN is stamped on forward bottom of frame. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl retains 50% dull blue finish with high point muzzle wear and a few small dents. Magazine tube shows 80% dull blue. Bbl markings are sharp. Sights are very good. Bore is dark with visible rifling. Receiver retains 30% blue overall with the balance being a silver grey patina with some light scratches and carry point wear. Markings are sharp. Hammer and lever show a silver grey patina with some hint of case color. Stocks have been cleaned and are slightly undersized with a coat of varnish applied. Stocks show handling marks overall. Buttplate is a silver grey patina, as is the forend cap. Mechanics are functional. 52997-1 TEP (1,500-2,500)
