WINCHESTER MODEL 1894 SADDLE RING CARBINE.WINCHESTER189466139225-35 WCFMODERN; C&RCal. 25-35 WCF. 20" rnd bbl. Full magazine. Blade front sight. 3-leaf rear sight. Full blue finish. Straight grain gumwood stocks. Saddle ring is attached. Winchester 2-line address is rolled on left side of bbl in front of rear sight. "NICKEL STEEL BARREL/ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER" followed by cal. designation is rolled at left breech of bbl. Upper tang is marked MODEL 1894/WINCHESTER/TRADE MARK/REG.IN U.S.PAT.OFF. SN is stamped on forward bottom part of frame. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl and magazine tube retain about 50% faded blue finish with muzzle wear and some staining toward muzzle. Sights are very good. Markings are sharp. Bore is very frosty with strong rifling. Receiver has flaked to a silver grey patina overall with a few stains and scratch marks. Hammer and lever both show a grey brown patina. Markings are sharp. Stocks are very good, slightly undersized and show stains and bruising overall commensurate with the age of the carbine. Buttplate is grey brown patina. Bbl bands are both silver grey patina. Mechanics are crisp. A nice example of an 1894 carbine in a very desirable caliber. 52997-2 TEP (1,500-2,500)
