Nicely figured American walnut stocks with checkered grip and forearm. Carbine buttplate with saddle ring attached. Bbl shows Winchester Model and Cal. designation rolled at left breech alongside sight. Right side is rolled "JOHN WAYNE COMMEMORATIVE" filled with gold wash. Receiver has a pewter finish. Left side shows a scene from the movie "Stagecoach" showing a 6-horse hitch and men fighting Indians from top of stage. The scene is bordered by the titles of many of John Wayne's movies. Right side of receiver shows a cattle drive scene from the movie "Red River" bordered by vine engraving and titles of more of John Wayne's famous movies. SN is stamped on bottom forward part of receiver. Under SN is stamped "PM. AIR / HUNT. PCH. C.". Upper tang is etched with facsimile of John Wayne's signature. Right side of buttstock has a silver disc inlaid with portrait of John Wayne. Bbl, magazine tube, bolt, hammer, trigger, loading gate and buttplate are finished blue. Receiver, lever, and bbl bands are finished in pewter. Accompanied by an orig box with a sleeve describing carbine. CONDITION: Very fine with no evidence of use. Bore is bright. Bolt face is clean. Elevator shows no drag mark. Mechanics are crisp, carbine appears to be unfired. Box is very good. Sleeve has a few abrasions at either end; images are clean. 53080-28 TEP (1,250-1,750)
