WINCHESTER DELUXE MODEL 71 RIFLE WITH BOLT MOUNTED PEEP SIGHT.WINCHESTER714070348WCFMODERN; C&RCal. 348 WCF. 24" rnd bbl, half magazine, full blue finish. Straight grain American walnut stocks with checkered pistol grip and forend. Pistol grip is capped. Stock has checkered steel shotgun buttplate with sling swivel mounts. Bbl shows Winchester Model and Cal. designation on left side at the breech with Winchester address on right side. Front sight is hooded and mounted on a ramp. Rear sight mortise is plugged with no evidence of a rear sight having been mounted. "WP" proofs are struck at the breech of bbl and top ring of receiver. SN is stamped on bottom forward portion of receiver. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl shows 90% orig blue finish that has faded to plum brown toward the muzzle with some slight wear and staining. Front sight is very good. Markings are sharp. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Receiver also retains 90% blue finish with some slight scratches and most of the war at carry point. Loading gate shows traces of fire blue. Lever and hammer both retain a considerable blue with some flaking on lever. Stocks are very good, full sized with sharp checkering and minor abrasions overall. Mechanics are crisp. A very nice, deluxe 71 rifle with special order peep sight. 53080-40 TEP (2,500-3,500)
