WINCHESTER DELUXE MODEL 71 RIFLE.WINCHESTER7139042348WCFMODERN; C&RCal. 348 WCF. 24" rnd bbl, half magazine, full blue finish. Straight grain American walnut stocks with checkered pistol grip and forearm. Pistol grip cap. Checkered steel shotgun buttplate and Winchester quick detach sling swivels. Bbl shows Winchester Model and Cal. designation along with the Winchester address rolled on left breech of bbl. Front sight is hooded and mounted on a ramp. Rear sight is of the standard sporting variety. "WP" proofs are struck at the bbl breech and on top of receiver ring. SN is stamped on bottom forward part of receiver. CONDITION: Very fine as professionally restored. Bbl retains 98% blue finish. Markings are sharp. Sights very good. Bore is frosty with strong rifling. Receiver also retains 98% blue with only slight handling marks overall. Hammer and lever also retain considerable blue finish. Stocks are very good and show almost all of the varnish finish with some slight handling marks. There are some gaps around the tangs. Buttplate shows considerable blue with wear at the heel and toe. Forend cap also retains 90% blue. Mechanics are crisp. A nice example of a deluxe 71 rifle. 53080-41 TEP (2,500-3,500)
