FINE INDIAN WAR ERA SHARPS 1868 CONVERSION SADDLE RING CARBINE. SHARPS 1868 CONVERSION C15418 50-70 Cal. 50-70. Typical late war Civil War Sharps carbine converted to cartridge for the Indian Wars. Refinished and re-stocked at that time with small inspector's initials on top of comb and ribbon "DFC" cartouche on middle of left side of stock. Gun is accompanied by a box of about 40 re-usable center fire cartridges and 3 Lyman loading dies. CONDITION: Fine overall. Bbl retains about 50% bright arsenal re-blue. Frame and hammer retain strong traces of muted case colors with balance silver grey. Stocks are sound and solid with small cosmetic blemishes unaffecting aesthetics.
