COLLECTOR'S LOT OF 3 CONNECTICUT MADE ANTIQUE LONG ARMS.PARKER & SNOW/PARKER & SNOW/CHARLES PARKER1864/1864/T-LATCHNSN/NSN/65958/58/12 GAThis lot consists of: 1) Meriden Man'fg Co. Charles Parker underlifter 12 ga hammer shotgun. 28" Damascus bbls. 1866 patent date. Both locks are marked. Checkered wood stock. 2) 39" bbl Miller breech loading conversion on an 1864 dated Parkers Snow & Co./Meriden.Conn. Civil War musket. Originally this was a percussion gun that was altered 1865-1867 to 58 cal rimfire. 3) 40" bbl .58 cal. Civil War percussion Parkers Snow & Co./Meriden.Conn. 1864 dated musket. Reproduction rear sight. PROVENANCE: Daryl Middlebrook collection. CONDITION: 1) Fair with a pleasing age patina. Some areas have rust and minor pitting. Ding in left bbl. Lock markings are clear. Some plastic wood repairs. Bbls do not seat properly. Cracks in wrist of stock. Stock has been sanded, sides of buttplate shaved down, checkering re-cut. Both locks are in good functional order. Bores are rusty. 2) Gun has been lightly cleaned at some point. Markings are clear in metal. No visible cartouches. Edges of stock are rounded. Bore is bright with sharp rifling. Mechanics are fine. 3) All metal surfaces have been cleaned at some point. Some pitting. Bbl date is weak and illegible, but present. Eagle on lock is worn. Good cartouches on left side of stock. Stock shows age with numerous small dings and wear marks. Bore has strong rifling with light pitting. Rear sight in significantly newer condition. Mechanics are fine. 53098-11 GER (2,500-3,500)
