FINE GROUP OF 10 18TH AND 19TH CENTURY ARMS.1-3) This group consists of 3, probably 19th century war clubs, possibly from Fiji, but regardless, appear Oceanic that were so popular among collectors circa 1900. All three have good patinas and measure from 26-1/2" to about 32" overall. 4) Early 18th century silver hilted European small sword. 36" overall with 30" double fullered diamond shape blade. Silver grip with languettes, pommel and guard decorated with Neo-Classical figures. 5) Germanic hunting sword, early 19th century, iron mounted with pierced guard, 24-1/2" wide blade with dark wood grip. 6) Early Germanic hunting sword, brass mounted with massive 25-1/2" x 2-1/2" blade. 7-9) Three stirrup hilt horseman sabers, one appears Mediterranean, one Continental, one English. 10) Indo-Persian brass and horn mounted shamshir. This is a fine decorative group of swords which would grace the wall of an arms display and have lots of interesting stories about the individual weapons and their diversity. SIZE: CONDITION: Good to very good overall. Leather grip appears restored on the English stirrup hilt. 53109-2 JS (2,000-3,000)
