MATCHED PAIR BLANCH OF LONDON FLINTLOCK PISTOLS. BLANCH OF LONDON FLINTLOCK PISTOLS NA 65 Cal. about 65. Twist steel octagon bbls. are 4-1/4" long with smooth bores. Top flats are marked "London." Bbls feature platinum flash hole plugs and bands at breach with steel front beads. Engraved tangs have integral V-notch rear sights. Locks are marked "Blanch." and have floral and sunburst engraving. Key fastened walnut stocks have checkered wrists and German silver wrist plates. Engraved trigger guards have fancy pineapple finials. Brass-tipped hardwood ramrods are held by engraved steel thimbles. Key escutcheons are German silver. CONDITION: Both are in fine condition. One bbl retains 50% fading brown finish, the other has faded to gray. Both show spots of fine pitting. Lock plates retain traces of case colors blending with gray patina. Original stock finish shows scratches and small dents. One has small chips around lock plate. Mechanics are fine. Bores show some pitting. 52995-3 ds (2,000-4,000)
