CASED PAIR OF RICHARDS (LONDON) SIDE HAMMER BOXLOCK PERCUSSION HOLSTER PISTOLS.RICHMONDPERCUSSIONNSN39CASED PAIRCal. .39 bore. 5-3/8" Birmingham proofed twist bbls have German silver under ribs holding bridled steel ramrods. German silver boxlock combination breech sections are mounted with flat faced serpentine steel hammers on right sides. Actions and hammers are engraved with large scroll and acanthus. "Richards" is at tops of breeches, and "London" is at tops of bbls. Bottom tangs at grips are stamped "GERMAN SILVER". Checkered walnut bag grips have cap containers on butts. Pistols are housed in what appears to be their original walnut box with fancy bordered brass escutcheon on top engraved "John Van Vorst". Interior is lined in purple velvet, and contains a copper bodied 3-compartment flask with acanthus embossing, and two loading rods. CONDITION: Good to fine, retaining most twist pattern on bbls. Mechanically good. Case is fine. Interior cloth is good. 52865-6 mgm84 (2,500-3,500)
