CASED PAIR OF LONFIER A RENNES PERCUSSION TARGET PISTOLS WITH ACCESSORIES.LONIFER A RENESDUELERSNSN52W/CASECal. 52 Multi-groove rifling. 9-1/4" Swamped octagon twist bbls are unmarked. Scroll engraved breech irons have integral rear sights. Bar locks with flat faced percussion hammers have flourishes of scroll and are engraved "LONFIER" "A. RENNES" (working ca. 1845) on front portions. Triggers are set. European walnut stocks with checkered grips have flared butts. Mounts are of iron. Trigger guards have finger spurs and simple scroll engraving. Tips of stocks are shell carved, and have holes holding steel ramrods. Pistols are housed in elm burl veneered box lined in green felt. Accessories include steel ball mold, box with loading hammer, two loading rods, barrel shaped boxwood ball container, and a small tin bodied bag flask. CONDITION: Good. Metal parts have most of what appears to be restored finish, but are mostly brownish patina. Trigger guards and other furniture have new mottled temper blue. Bores are good but dark. Locks are good. Triggers work. Exterior of case is fine, shiny. Interior cloth and partitions are new. 53067-1 mgm104 (2,000-3,000)
