GOOD QUALITY UNDERLEVER HAMMER DOUBLE RIFLE BY ELLIOTT & SHELDON. ELIOTTE SHELDON DOUBLE RIFLE 3203 500 BPE Cal. .500 BPE. 3" Chambers. 28" Steel bbls are engraved with makers name on full length flat matted rib holding express sights. Rifle is black powder proofed for 38 bore. Bbls have Enfield type rifling. Round bodied Jones underlever action is fitted with rebounding back locks with round bodied serpentine hammers. Action and locks are engraved with 60% coverage well cut shaded scroll. Makers name is on lockplates. Well marbled and figured capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/4" over checkered wood butt with steel heel and toe plates. Silver oval is engraved with monogram "SIJX" (?). Splinter forend has sliding crossbolt release. Drop at heel: approx 2-7/8", drop at comb:approx 1-7/8". Cast: neutral. Weight: 8 lbs. 12 oz. LOP: 14-1/4". CONDITION: Very good. Bbls retain most of their orig blue considerably stained and lightly rusted. Action and locks retain approx 20% of their orig color. Stocks retain most of their orig finish with numerous marks and dings. Bores are very good to fine, with strong rifling, shiny with scattered light pits. Should shoot well.
