EXTREMELY RARE PARKER DHE 12 GAUGE SHOTGUN WITH ORIGINAL 36" BARRELS.PARKERDHE18365412 GAMODERN; C&RCal. 12 ga. 36" Titanic Steel bbls. #2 frame. Chambers lengthened. Choke full/full. Full length matted top rib with brass mid and large white front bead. Miller single trigger, auto ejectors, non-auto safety. Capped pistol grip buttstock checkered in standard DHE pattern with nickel oval near toe and 13-1/4" LOP from rear position trigger to modern Jostam pad. Splinter forearm checkered in standard DHE pattern with Deeley release and steel tip is an extremely fine professional restock. Receiver is nicely engraved in standard DHE pattern, setter on right, pointer on left, 4 pheasants on bottom surrounded by flowing Parker scroll. All visible SNs match. Bore diameter: left - .736, right – .733. Bore restrictions: left – .034 (full) right – .035 (full). Wall thickness: left – .038, right – .036. Drop at heel: "1-7/8, drop at comb: 1-3/8". Weight: 8 lbs 5 oz. PROVENANCE: Daryl Middlebrook Collection. CONDITION: Extremely fine as restored retaining virtually all restored finish to both wood and metal. Receiver appears to have been case colored by Turnbull and is a faithful reproduction of orig Parker case colors. Forearm wood as noted above is a proper replacement and pattern of checkering is similar to but not exactly in true DHE style. Buttstock appears mostly sound although there is a minor grain separation at bottom of right frame and an old minor repair behind top tang. Mechanics are crisp. Bores are excellent with only very minor staining. According to the Parker story there were only 8 steel barreled DHE 12 gauge guns with 36" titanic steel bbls. 53098-17 JSL (4,500-7,000)
