Referred to as an "experimental finish". Matching SN's on slide, frame and bbl. This gun is described on p. 256, pictured p. 257 of The P.38 Pistol, Vol. I by Warren Buxton. Accompanied by brown leather pebble grain flap holster. Holster is dated 1944. Markings are hard to read due to pebble grain. PROVENANCE: The esteemed collection of noted expert and author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Very good with finish wear to front strap, thinning on sides of slide. Light handling marks. All markings clear. Grips are fine with light handling marks. Bore is fine with sharp rifling. Fine mechanical function. Holster is solid, with wear and scuff marks. Factory matching box and test target. PROVENANCE: The esteemed collection of noted expert and author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Extremely fine with minute handling marks. All markings sharp and clear. PROVENANCE: The esteemed collection of noted expert and author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Very fine with extremely light handling marks. All markings clear. Grips are very fine, minor handling marks. Two proper mags. Factory steel cleaning rod. Matching box and test target. Manual is for a 9mm pistol. PROVENANCE: The esteemed collection of noted expert and author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Extremely fine with minimal handling marks. Grips extremely fine showing minimal handling marks. Bore is excellent shiny and bright. Mechanics are crisp.
