Austrian eagle BH on left side of frame. Orig SN on right side of frame & top right flat of slide. Eagle N proof on front right side of slide, locking block, bbl lug. Bbl has matching number applied under orig SN. Locking block is matching to orig bbl number. Brown Bakelite grips. This gun is described on pg. 73, pictured pg. 76 of The P38 Pistol, Vol. III by Warren Buxton. Post war banner Walther P38 mag. Accompanied by black leather clam shell holster. Inspected on back. Pressed cardboard mag pouch. PROVENANCE: The esteemed collection of noted expert and author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Fine as arsenal refurbished. Markings clear except where noted. Grips are fine with light handling marks. Bore is worn with pitting. Fine mechanical function. Holster is worn with scratches & scuff marks, some peeling to mag pouch. Commercial eagle "N" proofs on right side of slide, frame, bbl lug. Matching SN slide, frame, bbl. Checkered black Bakelite grips. Mag is unmarked with exception of non-matching SN on left side. This gun falls in the Swedish Contract SN range. Described on pg. 110, pictured pg. 111 of The P.38 Pistol, Volume 1 by Warren Buxton. Accompanied by brown leather clam shell holster. Marked in ink on the inside of the flap "Widforss / Stockholm". Inner leather strap is missing. PROVENANCE: The esteemed collection of noted expert and author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Fine with most of the orig high luster finish. Wear on high points and light handling marks. Markings are clear. Grips are fine with light handling marks. Orig numbers on right side of frame and top right slide flat are still present. Mag marked with non-matching SN on spine. Black Bakelite grips. Grips are very good with light scratches & handling marks. Bore is bright with sharp rifling. Fine mechanical function. Holster is solid with light scuff marks, strong stitching.
