WALTHER P-38 COLLECTOR'S GROUPING.SAKOTRI-ACE80734522/32MODERN; IMPORTCal. 22LR. 6" bbl. Gun is currently set up in 22LR configuration. Target style wood grips have a rnd escutcheon on the left side which says "WILHELM HOFMANN". Extended threaded mag release. Two 22LR mags. Accompanied by a 32S&W Long bbl and slide assembly, bbl is 6". Non-matching SN on left side of slide. Two 32S&W Long mags. Small bag with two spare front sights and small tools. Comes in a black plastic hard case. PROVENANCE: The esteemed collection of noted expert and author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Fine condition overall with light wear and handling marks. Grips are fine with light handling marks. Both bores are fine with strong rifling. Fine mechanical function. Minor pitting and rust staining on all four mags. UNUSUAL POST WAR WALTHER P38 BMI MARKED 22LR PISTOL WITH BOX.WALTHERP3809079922W/BOX, EXTRA MAGMODERNCal. 22LR. 5-1/8" bbl. Standard two line commercial Walther marking on left side of slide. Droop wing eagle 952 proof marks on right side of slide along with "BMI" stamp. Same proofs on front of bbl. Droop eagle 129 proofs on right side of frame along with x'ed out BMI stamp. "BMI" stands for "Bundesministerium des Innern" or "Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs". Numbers on slide, bbl and box are matching to each other, but not to the frame. Matte finish on steel parts. Aluminum frame. Made without locking block. Proper cut-away on top front strap of slide. Black plastic grips. Two proper 5.56mm mags. Proper .22LR box. Factory manual. PROVENANCE: The esteemed collection of noted expert and author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Very good as assembled. Slide and bbl exhibit minimal handling marks. Finish on frame is worn on front strap and along edges. All markings are clear. Grips have light scratches and wear marks. Bore is fine with strong rifling. Mechanics are functional. CONDITION: Very fine with very minimal handling marks. All markings clear. Grips are very fine, minor handling marks. Bore is excellent shiny and bright. Mechanics are crisp. Matching last three digits of SN on left bbl lug, does not appear to be numbered anywhere else. Two proper mags. Steel cleaning rod. Orig manual. Matching box and test target.
