WALTHER P-38 PISTOL COLLECTOR'S LOT.WALTHERP389036A9MMHOLSTERMODERN; C&RCal. 9mm. 5" bbl. Standard markings. This gun is an East German postwar rework. E.G. sunburst mark on left side of slide, trigger guard web, right side of slide. Eagle 359 inspected. Matching SN's on slide, frame and bbl. Chocolate Bakelite grips. This gun is described on p. 15, pictured on p. 16 of The P.38 Pistol, Vol. III by Warren Buxton. Rough finished mag is marked with matching SN on floorplate. Accompanied by a heavily modified P08 Luger holster. PROVENANCE: The esteemed collection of noted expert and author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Very good as arsenal refurbished. Frame is bent at rear top in middle where it meets grips. Minor pitting on bbl. All markings clear. Grips are fine with light handling marks. Bore is bright with sharp rifling. FINE SCARCE EAST GERMAN POST WAR ISSUE P38 9MM PISTOL WITH HOLSTER.WALTHERP38N10569MMW/HOLSTERMODERN; C&RCal. 9mm. 5" bbl. Crown N commercial East German proof on left side of East German manufactured slide and bbl. Locking block is a refurbished Spreewerke part. East German commercial proofs on left side of frame. There do not appear to be any Nazi marks on frame. Matching numbers on slide, frame, takedown lever, bbl and locking block. Black Bakelite grips. This gun is pictured on pg 18, markings explained on pgs 17-19 of The P38 Pistol Vol III by Warren Buxton. Unmarked mag. Accompanied by black leather clamshell holster. Marked on back "cgu/40". Good ink stamp markings inside clamshell. PROVENANCE: The esteemed collection of noted expert and author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Fine. Majority of finish is present, wear on high points and front strap. All markings clear. Grips are fine with light handling marks. Bore is fine with strong rifling. Mechanics are fine. Black Bakelite grips. Eagle 135 inspected mag. PROVENANCE: The esteemed collection of noted expert and author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Fine with most of a professionally restored blued finish. All markings clear and crisp. Grips are fine with light handling marks. Bore has strong rifling with light roughness and pitting throughout. Mechanics are fine. 53005-111 GER (400-600)
