PAIR OF WALTHER WWII P-38 PISTOLS.WALTHERP387183A9MMHOLSTERMODERN; C&R; IMPORTCal. 9mm. 5" bbl. Standard markings. Eagle 359 inspected. Light brown Bakelite grips. Matching SN's on slide, frame and bbl. Eagle 359 inspected mag. Accompanied by black leather clam shell holster, markings are worn. PROVENANCE: The esteemed collection of noted expert and author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Very good as arsenal refurbished. Minor dings and handling marks, minor pits on right side of slide, heavy pit on left rear of frame behind grip. All markings clear. Grips are fine with light handling marks. Bore has strong rifling with light pitting. Holster is solid with strong stitching and light scuff marks. Holster has been redyed. 53005-71 GER (1,250-1,750)
EXTREMELY RARE CROATIAN 369 MARKED WALTHER AC44 P.38 9MM PISTOL WITH HOLSTER.AC 44/WALTHERP381008E9MMW/HOLSTERMODERN; C&RCal. 9mm. 5" bbl. Standard Walther AC44 markings. WaA359 inspectors marks. Croatian checkerboard shield surmounted by 369 marked on right side of slide. This is the unit designation of the 369th Croatian Infantry Regiment which was a unit of the Wehrmacht. These guns are discussed on pgs 237-238 of The P.38 Pistol Volume III by Warren Buxton. Matching numbers on slide, frame, bbl, and locking block. Bbl and slide are blued. Frame is a copper colored finish. Dark Bakelite grips. Proper Eagle 359 inspected mag. Accompanied by black leather holster, similar in appearance to Swiss Luger holsters. PROVENANCE: The esteemed collection of noted expert and author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Good with some finish remaining. All markings clear. Grips are dirty with light scratches, some scrapes at top of right grip. Bore is good with minor pin prick pitting and strong rifling. Mechanics are functional.
