LATE 1918 COLT MODEL 1911 ARMY MARKED PISTOL.COLT191148778045W/HOLSTERMODERN; C&RCal. 45 ACP 5" bbl. Slide right marked "MODEL OF 1911 U.S.ARMY" in Gothic print. Front sight has been replaced and is tapered thin rounded type. Rear sight is rounded with round notch. Slide marked "H" over firing pin stop plate. Left slide shows typical Colt 1913 last patent date marking with Rampant Colt followed by Colt's standard Hartford address. Receiver left shows "25" on lower trigger guard bow and very faint remains of an eagle above magazine catch. Right and left stocks have mother of pearl inserts in the middle, right stock has two rhinestones over and under mother of pearl insert. Bbl has large "K" mark in front of lug and chamber area in the white appears to be 1920s commercial. Magazine is two-tone without lanyard loop pinned base showing much patina with base that appears to be loose. Includes US marked 1917 type leather holster marked inside "RMC-32". CONDITION: Entire pistol has been re-blued with a high polish finish over moderate buffing. Most markings are still present but weak. Front and rear sights have been changed to early type. Stocks show heavy wear. Stock screws are in good condition with no damage to slots. Magazine catch lock shows moderate damage. Receiver right shows minor scratches around hammer pin. Receiver left shows take down scratch. Front grip strap is mostly in the white. Grip safety and main spring housing are mostly patina. Bore is poor. Mechanics are crisp. Overall condition is good as re-finished. Holster has repair at hanger. 52779-2 KXK (1,400-3,000)
