RARE SPRINGFIELD ARMORY 1911 AUTO CAL .45 MADE IN 1914 IN NEAR ORIGINAL CONDITION.SPRINGFIELD191111623145ACPMODERN; C&RCal. 45 ACP. 5" bbl. Slide right has Springfield Eagle above SN with "Model of 1911.U.S.ARMY". Left side marking shows standard Colt 1911 patent marking with "SPRINGFIELD ARMORY" / "U.S.A". Rear of slide shows flaming bomb. Front sight is Springfield integral machined sight. Rear sight is square cornered Springfield made sight. Hammer has typical Springfield Armory contour, firing pin stop plate has typical Springfield rounded upper edge. Slide stop is properly checkered all the way to the top. Bbl bushing has proper thin, beveled front edge. Stocks show typical Springfield Armory checkering. Grip safety shows proper sharp bottom edge. Main spring housing shows proper square bottom corner. Magazine catch body shows proper finish. Magazine is standard Springfield folded bottom type with copper plating shown on upper rear portion and heat treating marks on the upper portion. Bbl is Colt made with vertical "P H" mark showing through ejection port. CONDITION: Overall condition is very fine with approximately 95% orig finish. Lower stock screw left appears to have been modified and shows cold blue. Stock screws right appear to have cold blue. All screw slots appear crisp. All parts appear to have approximately 95% of their orig finish with most loss on front grip strap. Right stock shows five hash marks on upper diamond. Magazine is in excellent condition with only some slight wear to copper area at top but has small crack in upper right corner. Bore is very good with only minor pitting.
