DODGE MACKNIGHT (American, 1860-1950) INTERIOR (LA LEJA)Watercolor Housed in its original light stained molded wood frame with mat behind glass Signed lower right "Dodge Macknight" within a circle, on verso are three labels; 1) Museum of Fina Arts, Boston Massachusetts special loan exhibition of Dodge Macknight memorial exhibition with title, artist and owner (Mrs. Robert J. Clark of Boston Mass). 2) Doll & Richards, Inc. Boston, Mass indicating an exhibition March 19-31, 1897 and coming from the collection of Desmond Fitzgerald & Mrs. Robert J. Clark. 3) A typed label describing the painting which was taken from the Memorial Exhibition as follows: "Interior with three large red pottery jars on a low, tiled shelf. Below them large decorated plates and jugs; above two shelves of jugs, and hanging on the wall many other dishes. A woman knitting, seated right... Purchased from Harriott Fitzgerald Clark in May 1953 by Susan Delano McKelvey presented to Mr. and Mrs. Walter Muir Whitehill in May 1956 by Susan Delano McKelvey." SIZE: Sight: 15" x 21-13/4".
