TURQUOISE GROUND FAMILLE ROSE CHARGER.Qianlong mark and possibly of the period, China. The charger with shallow rounded sides and openwork rim, is finished with meandering vines and blossoms all done on a turquoise glazed ground. The underside with matching design and stands on a slightly splayed foot with rose colored leaf accents ending at a smooth foot rim. Qianlong seal in iron red. The underside bears numerous labels including examples with the names of Marchant and Nathan Bentz, and is also accompanied with a paper receipt from the London San Knight Antique Gallery Museum, dated 1970. Our research has been unable to verify the references to these former collections. SIZE: 15-1/2" dia.
