FRAMED SCROLL PAINTING OF PEACOCK.China, early 20th century. Primarily done in black, the painting depicts a single peacock with one foot raised, standing within a flowery landscape. Feathers are touched with blue and green pigment and a single line of script along right margin. SIZE: Sight: 41-1/2" x 22". Overall: 53-1/4" x 28-1/4". PROVENANCE: A most historical and important collection from the estate of Maria Decatur Mayo Deyo (Lila) Garnett of Kittery Point, Maine. CONDITION: Appears to have been laid down, scattered splits and cracks in paper. 52714-53 JTC (600-800)
