VICTORIAN WALNUT CYLINDER SECRETARY BOOKCASE.Last quarter 19th century, New England. In two parts, the upper case applied with a crest, carved with roundels within squares, framed by burled veneer panels mounted to the cove-molding above a pair of glass panel doors with crenelated and molded borders opening to an interior fitted with three adjustable shelves above a burl walnut barrel roll within a molded frame opening to an interior of pigeon holes and stationery drawers above a pull-out writing slide with inset leather surface. The lower case with a long drawer above a bank of two drawers and paneled, hinged door all on a molded plinth. SIZE: 93" h x 40" w x 23" d. PROVENANCE: From an unreserved Corea, ME collection. CONDITION: Secretary retains original surface, now crusty and dry with normal and expected in-use wear. Good overall. Brass hardware appears original. 52885-1 HMG (600-800)
