AESTHETIC MOVEMENT BRONZE FIGURAL MANTEL CLOCK.Mid-19th century, France. The blue enameled dial with Roman numeral chapter ring centering a time and strike aperture, flanked by winged cherubs playing musical instruments beneath a cast crest with oval porcelain medallion decorated with a young woman in polychrome robes and dress. The clock resting on a rectangular base. The cast guilloches with turquoise porcelain polychrome decorated panels, raised on winged claw feet centering a cartouche cast within a bust of Minerva. The 8-day brass spring driven movement striking on a bell. SIZE: 15" h x 13" l x 5" w. CONDITION: The gilt case with original surface and good patina, with light surface soiling throughout. Porcelain in good condition. Plaque in base needs adjustment. Movement appears clean and intact, very good overall. 52874-10 HMG (800-1,200)
