CARVED VICTORIAN PAINT-DECORATED CORNER SHELF.Last quarter 19th century. The shelf with the scrolled, pierced foliate carvings centering a carved deer's head mounted on a triangular shield plaque, joined to a shelf with molded and scalloped edges above a shaped, carved apron. The whole in original paint. SIZE: 18-3/4" h x 12" w. PROVENANCE: Contents of a lifetime collection "Brook Crossing," South Pomfret, VT. CONDITION: Front section proper right side panel an early replacement. Early painted surface now with heavy craquelure. 52806-8 HMG (200-400)
